Community College of Denver currently offers three Associate of Applied Science degrees in business technology. To ensure success in the program, courses transferred into business technology degree/certificate options or previously taken at CCD should be no more than five-years-old upon entering the program.

  

Administrative Professional

The Associate of Applied Science administrative professional degree prepares you to enter the business world with high-level business technology skills. As a graduate of this program, you will be prepared to be a professional assistant in businesses, proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access), understand standard business documentation, assist in decision-making, develop company processes and procedures, and have a high level of competence in hardware and software. Upon completing this program, you can work in positions such as executive assistant, administrative professional, administrative assistant, office specialist, office professional and office coordinator.

Healthcare Administration

The Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) for healthcare administration prepares you to enter the medical business community with high-level business technology skills. As a graduate of this program, you will be prepared to be a healthcare administrative professional in medical institutions, proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access), understand standard business/medical documentation, assist in decision-making, develop processes and procedures for your company, and understand medical terminology, filing and coding. Upon completing this program, you can work in positions as a healthcare administrative professional in medical offices, clinics and hospitals.

The degree offers a more in-depth educational approach to healthcare administrative assistant than CCD's healthcare administrative assistant certificate, with the inclusion of general education and more medical and business courses.

This A.A.S. is fully transferable to the bachelor's degree program of healthcare management at Metropolitan State University of Denver.

Legal Administrative Assistant

As a graduate of this program, you will perform as an assistant in a legal organization and will be proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access), understand standard business/legal documents, assist in decision-making, and develop processes and procedures for an office. Upon completing this program, you can work in positions such as legal administrative assistant for legal departments of nonprofit organizations and court systems. You can also complete both this program and the paralegal certificate to enhance your legal knowledge.

This certificate is appropriate for you if you want want to learn basic office skills to start a career.
